Thanks a lot!

After a couple of weeks in circulation with "Una, Unwanted," I am overwhelmed by the positive response from international readers.

It was exciting to release the book into the international market – would much of the meaning be lost in translation, and were there cultural barriers to understanding what is conveyed between the lines? My professional British editor and proofreader assured me that the book elicited the same reactions from him as it did from my Norwegian readers, as did a couple of British friends who volunteered as test readers.

Nonetheless, it was somewhat daunting to send Una, with her struggles and growth, Kalle and his secrets, and the narcissist Tor with his extreme need for recognition and power, out into the world. When I ventured into the international market, it was with an open mind and low expectations, and I remain prepared for some to assess the novel quite differently than my Norwegian readers have so far. However, the strong start has made me resilient to whatever may come, and I am simply overjoyed to be read!

With the help of a highly professional and enthusiastic door-opener in Canada, Hayley Faryna, I have met book lovers who have joined a so-called release team, which immerses itself in new books and shares honest reading experiences, particularly on Goodreads. Being read by people with a genuine interest in literature, who also take pleasure in guiding other readers, is a tremendous privilege.

The many messages and cheers on Instagram have also been very inspiring. Once again, thank you so much!
